Turning Japanese

"Turning Japanese" is an original artwork utilising multiple layers to create something different. This was experimenting with papers and how it would bond with the canvas, as well as the marker coping with the bleeds and the fixative.
 
I love Japan and cannot wait to visit (was due 2020 however Covid had other plans!). This was fun to make and involved a lot of patience. The lower layers are markers on the canvas with an alcohol ink wash over the top. The final tip were the cheeks of the lady, with a rose water colour.
 
This thick canvas is mixed media and measures 16" x 20".
